Recreation Program Coordinator

Health and fitness professionals who have dreamed of designing their own fitness centre program from the ground up are encouraged to submit their resumes for the Recreation Program Coordinator position at the new Chimo Aquatic and Fitness centre opening soon in Coquitlam. Opportunities to get involved in designing and creating a tailor-made fitness program are rare - so don't miss this chance to make your mark in the health and fitness industry.

This new facility includes a 6800-square foot, state-of-the-art Fitness Centre and the successful candidate will be integral to developing an operational plan, including hiring and training the required attendants, trainers and instructors and both creating and implementing the programs and services offered within the centre.

The ideal candidate will have:
* several years of experience managing a variety of fitness centres, possibly both in the public and private sector;
* several years of staff supervision experience;
* experience creating and implementing a variety of programs for all skill levels;
* completed relevant post secondary education;
* at least a BCRPA Supervisor of Fitness Leaders or equivalent certification; and
* completed BCRPA or equivalent modules in Weight Training, Personal Training and Group Fitness with Yoga and Pilates an asset.

The facility has a wellness philosophy including rehabilitation and therapy opportunities. Included in this role will be working with a private operator Physiotherapy clinic that is located beside the fitness space.
