Three Tips to Get Fat Oprah Winfrey Back On the Wagon to a Healthy Weight

Oprah Broke Her Scale When She Stepped On It!

I know I don't talk too much about weight loss on the Fitness & Rehab blog but I had to say something.

Oprah is a huge role model for millions of women around the world.

The struggle she is facing getting back to a healthy weight is a common one that I see in many of my clients.

Here are 3 Tips to Get Oprah and Yourself Back on the Wagon to a Healthy Weight

Simply Your Life - Too much on our life plate which leads to poor eating habits. Say "no" today on doing more.

Surround Yourself with Healthy Treats - Make fruit and vegetable easy to reach compared to sugary and deep fried crap.

Start New Today - Forget what has happened yesterday, give your self a break and start new today. From this day on, you will take action to a healthy and new you.

I don't expect Oprah to read this but if you feel like Oprah, these three tips will help you out.

I think it's great that Oprah called herself out first on her weight-gain. It reminds us that she's still human, too. However, it's sad that she feels she must put the spotlight on it -- everyone has ups and downs with that. Some years are skinnier than others : )

Rick,
Nice job and (as usual) very well written.

I'm with you. Personal responsibility in an issue such as this can make a huge impact on the positive or negative outcome of her success.

I am so frustrated because Oprah consistently has Dr. Oz on her show once a week, just last week it was about longevity!

She needed to address this long ago, it was a huge (sorry, bad pun but still intended) elephant in the room!

I honestly feel that with the power that she does have, she should be held to a higher standard. She is very quick to promote and market for everyone else, when her first priority (her health) should take center stage.
Not someone's movie/book/cd.

Just my thought. I still love her, but it was about time. Too bad she is still waiting until after the holidays to have this show. It only buys into the idea that you cannot live a life of health & wellness during during the holidays, which is not true!

Great tips Rick. Oprah is definitely the definition of yo-yo lifetime dieter. I think her, Janet Jackson, and Mariah Carey have the top spots.

Its too bad because like she mentioned, she has all the knowledge. I guess she was just missing the willpower.

Nice post Rick! To many people beat themselves up when they set their expectations high and don't meet them. We all do it from time to time but would be much better off remindng ourselves of our successes in life instead. So like Rick said, Start Fresh!
